lovely arcos de la frontera and more...

After taking the ferry back to Tarifa, we took a scenic bus ride through miles of olive orchards and wind turbines. When we arrived at our hotel in Arcos we were excited to find that a famous person had slept there! |
Look at the pictures above...can you see the dark clouds rolling in?
Thus far, our average temperature has been a delightful 70-75 degrees.
Cooler weather? No problem. Rain or shine, our happy group of travelers had a great time!

We walked down the hill to our bus to begin the day's adventures...
There were a few doors to pause by, of course.

We traveled a short distance to the town of Jerez de la Frontera...
Our first stop was touring an Andalusian horse farm (Yeguada de la Cartuja).
It was fascinating to learn about the history and breeding of these magnificent horses.

We really appreciate the wide variety of experiences included on a Rick Steves' tour.
Seeing a horse farm and a winery was a fabulous way to spend the day!

"It was a dark and stormy night..."

(Rae worked on the lyrics to the "Farewell" song and Carol started designing the thank-you cards.)
Tomorrow, we will (sadly) leave for the very last city of our tour, Sevilla.

Thank you, Javier! In Sevilla we will also say good-bye to our fabulous bus driver, "Tiny" Javier. From safely driving us through the winding mountain passes to navigating the busy city streets, he was greatly appreciated. |
